All puppies purchased from Gracia Puppies Home come with a 1-year health guarantee provided by us.
It is required that within ten days of buying the puppy, you must take them to a licensed veterinarian for an examination. If the vet determines that the puppy is clinically ill or has died from an injury or illness that likely occurred before the sale, you have several options.
You can return the puppy for a full refund, exchange it for another kitten of equal value, or keep the puppy and receive reimbursement for reasonable veterinary fees, up to the purchase price. These options do not apply if the seller has disclosed in writing, at the time of sale, any health problems that the buyer later seeks to return the puppy for.
If within 30 days of purchase, a licensed veterinarian determines that the puppy has a congenital or hereditary defect that negatively affects its health, or if the puppy dies from such a defect, the same options mentioned above apply.
To exercise these options, you must notify the seller within two days of the vet’s certification of the puppy’s illness, providing the vet’s name, address, and phone number. Failure to do so within two business days will result in the forfeiture of your rights. Each province has its own laws regarding the sale of puppies, so it’s important to familiarize yourself with the laws of the state where you purchase your puppy.
Some breeders may offer extended guarantees on their puppies, but it is not legal for a breeder to offer a health guarantee that is less than what the state requires. Extended genetic health guarantees, if offered, specifically cover diseases or illnesses proven to be of genetic origin through proper veterinary examination and testing. However, normal veterinary costs for general care are not covered.
The breeder must receive proper documentation before providing any compensation. This guarantee does not cover costs related to injuries caused by owner negligence or accidental injury.
